Concentration Camps

There were many concentration camps in World War II. They were first used to imprison political prisoners, criminals, and security risks. Later on their main purpose was to kill, enslave, torture, and starve all prisoners. All prisoners had a number tatooed on them and they were no longer called by their names but by their number. They were given very hard jobs, the food was not very healthy and scarse, and water was very hard to find. It was torture, they were worked until they died and some did not make it that far.  The older people and younger children were sent to gas chambers where they were murdered upon arrival.
